Premier League new boys Cardiff City are preparing an offer to try sign Rangers attacker Josh Windass following their promotion, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claims that Cardiff are getting ready for life back in the top flight by stepping up their interest in the dazzling 24-year-old at Ibrox.
It is understood that they are set to tempt the Gers to sell with a £1.5million bid, but Steven Gerrard’s side will be looking for at least £3million if he was to be sold.
Football Insider verdict:
Gerrard has overseen a huge overhaul of his squad already this summer in the transfer window and clearly a number of first teamers at Ibrox don’t cut the grade. However, there are a handful of individuals who proved their worth last season for the Gers and deserve another opportunity under the new manager. One of them is certainly versatile attacker Windass, who can play in any position under the frontline and is a technically gifted player. The Englishman delivered a great return last season, scoring 18 goals and supplying eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. He is definitely one of the first teamers that can raise their levels too under Gerrard and moving him on from Ibrox this summer would be a mistake. A reported bid of £1.5million should be laughed at by Rangers given the current state of the market and they should be holding out for four times as much.
