Two senior players axed, Poch changes up from Turin: Tottenham expected XI v Juventus

COMMENT

These are the sorts of games that fans dream about.

A spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League up for grabs, with the tie delicately poised against one of the European elite.

And it’s advantage Tottenham at the moment, although there’s not a lot in it and it could have been so, so much worse.

Tottenham took a bit of time to get going in Turin in the first leg and before they knew it they were two goals down.

Incredibly, given the occasion, they didn’t crumble, and that’s possibly the biggest compliment you can give Poch and his current Spurs side. That showed real character.

In fact, by the mid-point of the second half it looked like Tottenham would go on and bring home a really unlikely win.

They don’t need to win at Wembley. A 0-0 or a 1-1 draw would be enough but don’t think that Pochettino is going to set up negatively – that’s just not his style.

However, we’re not expecting Pochettino to put out the same team as the one that performed heroically in Turin.

Bearing all this in mind, Football Insider names the expected XI for the game at Wembley on Wednesday, which could lead to a quarter-final spot in the biggest club competition of them all.
