Poch must go against Turin instincts and unleash secret Tottenham weapon v Juventus

COMMENT

Mauricio Pochettino must start Heung-Min Son against Juventus on Wednesday night.

Tottenham start the second leg of their tie with Italian giants Juventus with the advantage after a fantastic 2-2 draw in the first leg in Turin.

And, ahead of the second leg, striker Harry Kane confirmed that Pochettino wouldn’t sit back and defend, but take the game to Juventus and try and outscore them.

Outside of Kane himself, Son has arguably been the best Tottenham player this season – and certainly the second most potent attacking force.

Son has scored 15 in 41 games this season but, more importantly, Tottenham look far more dangerous when he’s playing.

All too often he’s Pochettino’s fall guy.

He was dropped for the first leg in Turin with Pochettino preferring Erik Lamela and, to be fair, the Argentinian put in a good display.

If Son was dropped again for the return leg though, it would be hugely unfair for the player who always gives 100% and never complains about his right to a place in the side.

That’s obviously irrelevant in the scheme of things if Lamela is the right man to play.

However, the Juventus players didn’t play against Son and won’t know exactly what he’s capable of.

He could be Pochettino’s secret weapon in the game at Wembley and he should be one of the first names on the team sheet.
