Pochettino confirms Tottenham first team duo are available to return against Chelsea
By Harvey Byrne
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Tottenham defenders Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Walker are available to face Chelsea on Wednesday.
The first team duo missed Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Watford after picking up a suspension following five yellow cards.
Spurs still produced a dominating win over the Hertfordshire-based side, but the duo will be a huge boost to the back four against the league leaders.
However, Pochettino did reveal that attacker Erik Lamela will remain out of the clash with an injury suffered in October keeping him on the sidelines.
“Vertonghen and Walker are availble again. Lamela still out, but is training hard and working on fitness,” told Pochettino as quoted by the club’s Twitter page.

Vertonghen and Walker have been key to their side’s back four with 44 appearances between them in all competitions this campaign .
They have helped their side maintain the second best defensive record in the English top flight, which is only bettered by Wednesday opponents Chelsea.
The two London rivals have already met at Stamford Bridge this season with goals from Pedro and Victor Moses cancelling out a Christian Eriksen strike in a tight 2-1 win.
It is expected to be another close affair on Wednesday, which will see the Blues look to pick up their 14th straight league win.
