Celtic fans on social media were unimpressed with James Forrest’s performance in the Scottish Cup Final, which the Hoops won 2-0 to complete the domestic treble.

Despite Forrest having the best season of his career and scoring 17 goals in the process, he has not won over every Hoops fan and his critics were out in force after a poor performance against the Steelmen.

One fan went as far as to suggest that he should have been replaced by Patrick Roberts at half-time, this didn’t happen though as Forrest was eventually substituted the 88th minute by Scott Sinclair.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Forrest’s performance in the cup final:

Forrest has been in the best form of his career, but he had a quiet game in the cup final – despite the Hoops dominating the game in the middle of the park Forrest wasn’t at his very best.

Forrest can still look back on this season as the best he has ever had despite not having the greatest cup final, and he will be a key man for the Hoops next season, beginning with the Champions League qualifiers in July.

He can also be satisfied with being part of a side which created history by winning the domestic treble for the second season in a row.
