Portsmouth plotting to sign Reading star Michael Craig – sources
Portsmouth are plotting a summer move for Reading midfielder Michael Craig, sources have told Football Insider.
The defensive midfielder, 21, has impressed this season during his 36 appearances in all competitions for the Royals.
League One champions Portsmouth are among a number of clubs tracking the former Tottenham youngster ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
Craig’s Reading meanwhile finished in 17th place in League One, having won just 16 of their 46 matches.
Portsmouth eye move for former Tottenham man
Midfield ace Craig spent several years as a youth player at Tottenham before his switch to Reading in 2022. The 21-year-old has also worked his way through the Scotland youth teams.
Pompey will be plying their trade in the Championship next season, having topped League One with 97 points.
They won 28 of their 46 matches, with 13 draws and just five losses, finishing five points ahead of second-placed Derby County.
Sources told Football Insider last month that Portsmouth are also plotting a summer move for Exeter City midfielder Reece Cole.
The 26-year-old has impressed in League One this season, but he is also attracting interest from Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers.
