Premier League manager has already passed audition to replace Arne Slot, Liverpool must act now

Arne Slot is quickly running out of time to turn things around as Liverpool continue to falter on the biggest stages this season.

Liverpool fans were furious with Slot after slipping up to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and the anger has risen to a whole new level at Anfield after a damning Champions League defeat.

The Reds have now won just three of their last 12 matches across all competitions, only beating Eintracht Frankfurt, Aston Villa, and Real Madrid, but are sitting 12th in the Premier League table.

Football Insider understands that Slot still has the backing of Liverpool’s hierarchy, but as Premier League managers know, things can change in a heartbeat if the results don’t change.

Several Premier League managers are under immense sack pressure

Thomas Frank remains under pressure at Tottenham, with Daniel Farke of Leeds United, Marco Silva of Fulham, and Newcastle United‘s Eddie Howe all facing similar situations.

However, there is one manager so far this season who is standing out for all the right reasons, and those behind the scenes at Anfield will be thoroughly impressed by what they’ve seen from him.

That manager, of course, would be Crystal Palace‘s Oliver Glasner, given that the Eagles have been somewhat of a bogey team for the Reds this term, and he has been heavily linked with leaving Selhurst Park.

It is not just the results that matter, though. So far this season, Slot has shown an inability to adapt, even with £400million worth of players to work with, and Glasner has that in buckets.

Oliver Glasner has already proven himself to the Liverpool hierarchy

Football Insider understands that Marc Guehi‘s impending exit will have no impact on Glasner’s future at Palace, but supporters are preparing themselves for the inevitable ahead of the summer.

If Liverpool want to replace Slot with the right manager, though, they might have to act much sooner than the end of the campaign, especially given that multiple clubs are keeping tabs on the figure.

The Eagles are currently sitting fifth in the Premier League, firing on all cylinders despite losing Eberechi Eze, which makes his success at Selhurst Park all the more impressive.

Should the Reds wait until the summer to attempt to secure his signature, it could backfire massively, with a number of other teams also interested in the Austrian taking over in their dugout.
