Premier League postponement updates for 10 midweek matches as more snowfall hits England

Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on the weather as several matches face the risk of postponement.

Several Premier League managers could be sacked depending on results this week, with upcoming fixtures set to spell further chaos in the top flight.

Enzo Maresca parted ways with Chelsea last week, and the Blues could face Fulham on Wednesday under the guidance of Liam Rosenior.

And in further shocking news, Ruben Amorim was sacked by Manchester United on Monday, with the Red Devils now also looking for a manager.

The weather could be set to interfere with the week’s narratives, however, as it threatens to postpone several games.

Weather warnings sweep England ahead of Premier League fixtures

Leicester City’s match against West Brom on Monday is at serious risk of postponement, with several games already having been called off.

Sheffield United‘s match with Oxford United, Hull City’s with Watford, and Portsmouth‘s with Ipswich Town were all postponed on Sunday due to conditions deemed unsafe.

Pitches around England are at risk of freezing over in harsh conditions, with Premier League clubs joining others in paying close attention.

On Tuesday, the Met Office have issued a warning for snow and ice, although the area of effect is currently set to miss West Ham‘s match with Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium.

There are currently no warnings in place for matches on Wednesday and Thursday, but the state of the weather will provide officials with constant cause to continue monitoring conditions at each stadium.

Fans hoping to attend fixtures to be played in the coming days would be minded to keep a close eye out for further announcements, with transport also potentially to be affected.

Key Premier League fixtures could be affected

Tuesday’s clash at the London Stadium is set to be key in the race for Premier League safety – a certain six-pointer.

Should Nuno Espirito Santo beat his former side, West Ham will be just one point behind Nottingham Forest and the safety of 17th.

However, an away win and an extension of the gap to seven points may well condemn them to relegation.

Elsewhere, Manchester City and Aston Villa both will look to put the pressure on Arsenal on Wednesday, when they play Brighton and Crystal Palace, respectively.

The Gunners will be in action on Thursday against last season’s Premier League champions Liverpool.
