Holt makes claim about Candeias goal in Rangers win v Partick
By James Black
Rangers midfielder Jason Holt admits he was delighted to see Rangers winger Daniel Candeias get on the scoresheet after a brilliant team move by the Gers.
Candeias grabbed the second goal in the 3-0 win over Partick Thistle at the weekend after a long run by Holt was denied by a save from Thistle ‘keeper Tomas Cerny.
The Portuguese winger has impressed since joining the Gers from Benfica over the summer and fans have taken the the tricky wideman.
Holt was happy to see Candeias double the Gers’ advantage after some excellent work to find himself a yard of space, but he claims that he could have perhaps scored himself.
“I got the ball, bounced it off Alfredo and played a one two with Kenny and the space just kept opening up for me,” Holt said, as quoted by Rangers’ official website.

“Daniel took the defenders away and I went through and probably should have scored myself.
“But, I was just delighted he managed to put that in after me.
“The runs off the ball are so important to create the space, and it was a great bit of work from Daniel who got his reward at the end of it by grabbing the goal.”
Holt has enjoyed a resurgence in the Rangers starting XI of late after coming back into the side following injuries and suspension.
The former Hearts midfielder put in a man-of-the-match performance against Partick at the weekend and will be hoping to keep his place in the starting XI when the Ibrox giants return to domestic action against Hamilton on November 18th.
The midfielder has made nine appearances for the Light Blues this season and grabbed his first goal of the campaign in the recent draw with Kilmarnock at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
