Celtic will no doubt be linked with many players in the summer and the latest is Yeovil defender Tom James.
The Birmingham Mail is reporting that the Hoops and Aston Villa are set to battle it out for the 21-year-old, who has impressed for the side currently 18th in League Two.
Both sides have been linked with the player previously, as the Bristol Post reported that Villa were battling with Bristol City and Swansea for the player, whilst the Independent reported that the Swans the Hoops were in a battle for the highly-rated player.
There is no doubt that the right-back has the potential to be a good player in the future, but a move to the Hoops could come far too soon for the player and Celtic must scrap their plans to sign him up in the summer.
It seems a bit of a leap for the player to suddenly go from battling to stay in the English league to playing in the Champions League qualifiers in a matter of months.
The fact that he is a right-back could also mean that the progress of Anthony Ralston is halted if he signs for the Hoops. Ralston is only 19-years-old and has already played in the Champions League group stages, and could be seen as the Hoops’ future right-back.
There is no doubt that the right-back area of the park could turn into a problem for the Hoops, with Cristian Gamboa set to leave the club and Mikael Lustig not getting any younger.
But a move for James would be far too soon for the player, and the Hoops should move on to other targets.
