Pundit blasts Celtic player for 'hiding' after being put to shame by Giakoumakis
Kevin Phillips has blasted Albian Ajeti for failing to put in the hard yards at Celtic this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Sundeland striker insisted the 24-year-old needs to “put himself about”, even if his team are struggling.
The Swiss striker made just four touches in a 17-minute runout as a substitute against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek (WhoScored).
In comparison, fellow striker Georgios Giakoumakis, who came on at the same time as Ajeti, made 16 touches.
The Switzerland international was handed a run of games in recent weeks, with Kyogo Furuhashi and Giakoumakis missing through injury.
However, he struggled for form and has come under fire for his performances.

Phillips admitted Ajeti’s stats against Leverkusen were “not good enough”.
He insisted the hitman needs to put in more effort rather than “hiding” at Parkhead.
Phillips told Football Insider’s Dylan Childs: “It’s hard. I’ve been there where I’ve come off the bench and haven’t touched the ball.
“They were playing against a side, getting a bit of a doing. All you ask from a player, when you are 2-0 down, is to run around and try. Put yourself about.
“It’s like wingers, sometimes in games when all the play goes down the right, you don’t get a touch down the left. It’s just one of those things.
“If you’re being accused of that, he’s got a bit of history, then come on and run around. Make yourself available, don’t go hiding.
“From the outside, four touches in 17 minutes, it isn’t good enough.”
