Pundit blasts Man United 'snowflakes' amid Ronaldo rift reveal today
Noel Whelan has insisted the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes need to work on adapting their games under Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker insisted there are too many “snowflakes” at Old Trafford who are unwilling to put in the hard yards to make the new manager’s tactics work.
As revealed by Football Insider on Saturday (1 January), Ronaldo and Fernandes are at loggerheads in the United dressing room, having failed to hit it off on the pitch this term.
There have been arguments behind the scenes, with Fernandes struggling to cope with losing his status as United’s main man.
However, neither of the pair are fans of Rangnick’s high-pressing style of play.
Whelan insisted the pair, and other teammates, need to commit to the manager’s tactics to avoid any more “embarrassing” performances.

Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “There are a lot of snowflakes out there as well these days.
“Players expect a lot of money to come in, just do enough and then go out and play the game. No, it’s not like that.
“When you’ve got a club the size of Manchester United that have played and put in certain performances they’ve had to watch and been part of, they must know themselves lots of hard work is needed to be done to improve that team.
“They didn’t have an identity and didn’t have any way of playing. Now you’ve got a manager who is trying to give them all that and make them better players.
“He’s trying to make them more competitive to get them closer to Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool. When they played them, they were all over the place. It was embarrassing at times.
“There wasn’t an identity, there wasn’t a structure to their play. Now you’ve got someone in that it’s not afraid of these big names. He’s going to work them and make them better.
“Get on with it and you won’t have any more embarrassing days out.”
Rangnick is yet to lose since taking charge at Old Trafford.
However, United have faced criticism for the level of their performances, especially in the draws against Newcastle and Young Boys.
