Pundit: Celtic could be about to complete 'great signing' after Mooy update
Aaron Mooy would be a “great signing” for Celtic, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker claimed the Glasgow giants would not be the only club interested in signing the midfielder.
The Daily Record reported on 2 July Mooy is high on Ange Postecoglou’s transfer wishlist but he would have to take a significant pay cut to complete a move.
The 30-year-old is currently plying his trade for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Port FC.
The Athletic reported last summer Mooy had signed a £60,000-a-week three-year deal with the club.
Postecoglou knows Mooy well after they worked together extensively when he was in charge of the Australia national team.

The new Celtic boss spent four years in charge of his country and Mooy played a key role in his successful spell.
Mooy has 43 Australia caps to his name but has not played for his country since 2019.
Asked whether the midfielder would thrive at Celtic, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He could do.
“He did well with Brighton & Hove Albion. He’s definitely someone that can do a job.
“I’m sure there’ll be loads of clubs looking at him. So, if they can get that one over the line it would be a great signing.”
Mooy scored nine goals and contributed six assists in 96 Premier League games across his time with Huddersfield Town and Brighton.
He has scored once and provided one assist in five Chinese Super League games for Shanghai Port this term.
