Pundit drops ‘definite’ Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer claim after Liverpool latest
Alan Hutton has backed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to revitalise his career if he leaves Liverpool this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said that Oxlade-Chamberlain still has the ability to play at a top Premier League side.
The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer and there have been no talks between him and the club over a new deal.
According to the Daily Mail (26 March), the midfielder is emerging as a target for Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Brighton ahead of the summer window when he will be available for free.
The former England international has made 13 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this season and has scored one goal in those outings.
Most recently, the midfielder was subbed on in the 4-1 defeat to Man City on Saturday (1 April).
When asked if Oxlade-Chamberlain still has the potential to be successful at a Premier League side, Hutton told Football Insider: “Definitely.
“He has been involved in the Liverpool team this season but it is probably not enough for him. He has had his injury problems but he has to play regularly to get back to his best.

“When you think about Aston Villa, they are trying to go places, we know what Newcastle are trying to achieve. They are all good options for him.
“I think he has still got the ability, if he keeps himself fit, to play at that level no problem.“
In other news, Liverpool expect Caoimhin Kelleher to ask to leave this summer.
