Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma will be on the phone to his former Lille teammate and current Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes regarding a move to the Emirates.
That is according to former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the prospect of the 24-year-old joining the London club this year.
The Mali international has been one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders this season, despite the Seagull’s struggling near the bottom of the Premier League table.
Football London claim that the midfielder’s displays have caught the eye of Arsenal with the London club set to pursue a move for him in the summer.
Bissouma played with Arsenal summer signing Gabriel while at his previous club Lille, before he sealed a £15million move to Brighton in Jul 2018.
When asked by Football Insider if the pair may have spoke about a potential transfer, Campbell said: “Listen, he is calling his mate up.
“He will be asking him, ‘How are you doing? How are things at Arsenal?’ He will be asking Gabriel questions and finding out all of the answers.
“It is not as if he is pushing for a move, but he will be speaking to him about the club and I am also sure that Gabriel will be speaking very highly of the manager and the club.
“Bissouma has also played against Arsenal enough times, he knows what we are about.
“If there is an opportunity for him to come in, I am sure the Arsenal fans would be very happy.”
