Pundit: Fan pressure may stop Newcastle re-signing Willock after key update
Newcastle United will not be able to afford to re-sign Joe Willock in the summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward suggested the midfielder may have a role to play at Arsenal next term.
As revealed by Football Insider, Steve Bruce has been handed a transfer budget of less than £10million for the upcoming transfer window.
That rules out the possibility of signing Willock on a permanent deal after his incredible end to the season.
The 21-year-old scored seven goals in the final seven games of the season as the Magpies secured a 12th-place finish.
Instead, Bruce will have to rely on signing free agents and securing loan deals.

This site revealed in April that Willock had told his Newcastle teammates he wants to stay next season after enjoying his time at St James’ Park.
Asked whether he saw the England Under-21 international in a black and white shirt next term, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I don’t.
“I feel Arsenal will want him back next season. They’ve got a lot of restructuring to do and fans will be asking for Willock to be included.
“I’m sure if they were to sell him they’d price Newcastle out of the market with their asking price.”
Willock has played 78 times for Arsenal but was limited to just two Premier League starts this season before moving to Newcastle.
He has scored 11 goals and provided four assists for his boyhood club.
