Pundit fears Goldson's 'head's been turned' at Rangers by English club after Source update

Paul Robinson has claimed Rangers star Connor Goldson has “had his head turned” by interest from West Ham.

The former Spurs goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted that a new deal for Goldson would already be completed if the defender was willing to sign.

Football Insider exclusively revealed today (September 16th) that West Ham are plotting a January raid for the 28-year-old Gers centre-back.

Ibrox chiefs still remain hopeful that Goldson will sign a new deal at the club.

However, the Englishman now holds all the cards and is available to sign a pre-contract agreement in January ahead of a free transfer in Summer 2022.

Football Insider revealed on September 1st that Rangers rejected multi-million pound offers for Goldson in the summer window.

The Gers stalwart has been almost ever-present since joining.

He missed his first league match in over two years against St Johnstone at the weekend through enforced isolation.

Robinson claimed the “integral” Goldson could have had his interest piqued by a potential return to England.

“He played a lot of games last year, he’s an integral part of the team,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“When a player goes this far without signing a new deal, the writing is on the wall.

“If he was going to sign a new contract, he would’ve done it by now.

“He’s obviously had his head turned by someone south of the border.”

Goldson joined Rangers from Brighton in 2018 for around £3million and has made 171 appearances for the club.

He was an important part of the side which went unbeaten to snatch the Scottish Premiership title back from rivals Celtic last term.

In other news, pundit claims this Gers January swoop makes “great sense”.
