Pundit hails 'great news' for Newcastle as training ground footage emerges on social media

Kevin Campbell has claimed “it’s a big plus” for Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe to be able to train with near-enough a full squad over the international break.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker hailed “the great news” that will allow Howe to establish a relationship with his players.

As confirmed by Newcastle (9th November), only six players have been called up for international duty this fortnight.

Martin Dubravka, Emil Krafth, Jeff Hendrick, Fabian Schar, Miguel Almiron and Jamal Lewis are the members of the Magpies squad who will be absent.

As club media footage shows, Howe has been hands-on directing training at Darsley Park.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment the training clip, Campbell said:

“It’s great news because he can work with the squad for two weeks. It is a big plus for them.

“You want him to be able to put his point across to the players. He needs to impact the team on the training pitch and then hopefully that will deliver on matchday. Those players are going to get drilled for two weeks, which is great news.

“Howe and his staff will want to build relationships with all of those players. Yes, he knows a few players in that squad but he needs to get to know the other guys.

“He needs to get everybody onside. They need camaraderie in the team. That is so important.”

In other news, it can be revealed Newcastle have laid the foundations for three ‘big-money’ January signings.
