Pundit in ‘no doubt’ Aston Villa will accept ‘massive bid’ from Man City

Aston Villa will be unable to turn down a substantial bid from Man City if they move for Jack Grealish this summer.

That’s according to ex-Villa striker Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Grealish’s future.

Last week, Football Insider revealed Man City will table a bid for Grealish, 25, if they win the Champions League.

In April, a City source told Football Insider that Grealish is top of Pep Guardiola’s target list.

Despite reports that Villa have slapped a £100m price tag on Grealish, Football Insider has been told that it will not take that kind of money to secure his services.

Grealish made his return from injury in Thursday night’s 0-0 draw with Everton and looked bright after months on the sideline.

McAvennie claims Villa won’t be able to turn down a substantial bid from Manchester City but wondered where Grealish would fit in Guardiola’s side.

“Villa are not going to turn a massive Man City bid down,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Grealish, he’s magnificent. I just wonder where he’ll fit in that City team. There are so many good players.

“Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva. You wonder if City really need him. That is a huge bid though.

“What is Grealish worth to Villa? That’s the question. But I have no doubt that a bid like that will be accepted.”

Grealish has picked up six goals and 12 assists in the Premier League so far this season.
