Pundit issues ‘£100m’ Liverpool transfer claim amid ‘big’ January prediction
Liverpool should not look to spend their way out of trouble amid a poor start to the season.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Liverpool’s
According to Diario AS (13 September), the Reds reportedly made a bid of £86.5million for Real Madrid star Federico Valverde in the final two days of the summer transfer window, but Real rejected the offer.

The Uruguay international currently has five years left on his contract at the Bernabeu.
Liverpool’s midfield has been criticised this season amid a poor start to the campaign which sees the Reds 11 points off the top of the table.
However, Kenny claims new signings are not the answer to arresting Liverpool’s form.
“I don’t think this is a thing that you throw money at,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Going and spending £100million on transfers or whatever, what’s the point? The players are already there, we know how good they are.
“It’s about getting them back to their best and getting them playing as they were. Salah has been quiet this season, Jota hasn’t done much.
“Diaz started well but has fallen away. Players like Firmino are coming in and doing it for them right now. For me, you have to look at what is already there.
“You can’t do anything transfer-wise until after the World Cup anyway. I don’t think big transfers are the answer to this one and I’m not sure we will see too much activity in January.”

Valverde has made ten appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions so far this season.
In those outings he has scored four goals and provided two assists.
