Pundit lambasts Mikel Arteta after 'angry' Arsenal comments
Mikel Arteta showed a lack of experience in his post-match interview following Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Arsenal.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners’ North London Derby loss.
Rob Holding saw red as Arsenal lost 3-0 to Tottenham on Wednesday night (12 May).
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the Arsenal boss refused to comment on the referees’ performance as he wanted to avoid a ban.
Antonio Conte, as quoted by The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare, claimed Arteta, “needs to be more focused on his team and not to complain”.
McAvennie agrees with Conte’s assessment.

“Arteta was not happy after the game was he?” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He was making all the excuses. Get on with it, you have lost 3-0 in a big game. I understand why he’s angry.
“But it’s done, it’s over. Get on with it. He’s moaning about all of those decisions but it was 3-0.
“It wasn’t a narrow loss where one thing went against them, they were properly beaten.
“Have a go at the players if you have to have a go at anyone. I think Conte was right.
“Arteta showed a bit of a lack of experience for me, stop making excuses. It’s something he needs to learn to control.
“You can be angry but don’t behave like that.”
The chance to finish in the top four is still in Arsenal’s hands.
They face Newcastle United on Monday (16 May) before welcoming Everton to The Emirates on the final day of the season (22 May).
