Paul Robinson has claimed it is “great news” to hear Borna Barisic is happy at Rangers ahead of the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one heaped praise on Steven Gerrard for creating a “very happy dressing room” at Ibrox over the past few years.
As quoted by the Daily Record, Barisic, 28, revealed last week that he has been “totally won over” by the Gers who he described as “a big wonderful family” and a “unique club”.
It comes after Steven Gerrard confirmed earlier this year that AS Roma had registered their interest in signing the left-back.
Barisic enjoyed another sensational campaign in 2020-21, with his 50 appearances across all competitions yielding five goals and 14 assists.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the Croatian defender’s comments, Robinson said:
“It is great news to hear Barisic say that because he’s been a key player for them over the past couple of years.
“There doesn’t sound like there is any players who don’t want to be there. Steven Gerrard has got a very happy dressing room.
“He has created a winning team and within that there is a lot of squad harmony. Next season there is an opportunity to be part of something special again.
“It is a great draw for players and that is the biggest compliment you can give Steven Gerrard. There is no bad noises coming out of Rangers at the moment, only positive.”
