Leeds tipped to make Alioski U-turn after pivotal transfer development - pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Leeds United may retract their contract offer to Ezgjan Alioski as they finalise the signing of Junior Firpo within the next 48 hours.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed the length of negotiations could see the Whites make a U-turn.
Alioski became a free agent yesterday (1 June) after his Leeds contract ended.
This club confirmed on 27 May in their retained list he had been offered fresh terms.
Football Insider learned on 4 June they had submitted a new and improved deal to the versatile left-sided player.
Alioski featured in all but two of the Yorkshire giants’ Premier League games last term.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side secured a ninth-place finish in their first top-flight campaign for 16 years.
“It’s hard to tell what’s going to happen,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“If I was the Leeds United manager, I’d want to keep him. I’ve said it before that they should bring in another left-back but keep him because he’s versatile and can play in loads of different positions.
“You just don’t know what Leeds are thinking they may see it as ‘You’ve taken so long to get back to us, we’re going to take it away.'”
Football Insider revealed on 29 June Leeds have agreed to sign Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo after having a bid of £12.8million accepted, and the latest from a club source is the deal could be completed within 48 hours.
The 24-year-old is Jordi Alba’s understudy at Camp Nou but managed 18 appearances across all competitions last term.
