Pundit makes 'honest' Liverpool admission over divisive footage as Klopp fumes
Aaron Cresswell’s challenge on Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was “a yellow card and a half”, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Premier League goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Cresswell, 31, would have been “unlucky” to have been sent off because his foot bounced off the ball just before the contact.
Cresswell escaped a red card in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Liverpool despite a high challenge on Henderson.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the loss, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp fumed over the officials decision.
He claimed the incident was a “clear red card” as it was a “reckless” challenge.
When asked by Football Insider for his interpretation of the challenge from Cresswell, Robinson said: “There is an argument for both.

“His foot has bounced off the ball. He has been unlucky because his foot has bounced off the ball and caught Henderson on the leg. There was no intent there.
“It is probably a yellow and a half. If a red was given, you could understand why but it would have been harsh.
“It is one of those which is a matter of opinion.
“In all honesty, I agree with the decision. Referees have been a lot more lenient this year and have let a lot more go which has made the game flow better.”
Klopp told Sky Sports: “Cresswell? For me it’s a reckless challenge.
“The way I saw it it’s a clear red card. There’s actually no discussion possible.”
