Pundit makes 'huge' claim about Nuno losing Tottenham job after behind-the-scenes reveal
Nuno Espirito Santo is under “huge pressure” but Tottenham should not panic and sack him anytime soon, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England full-back suggested the Harry Kane saga over the summer is still casting a cloud over Nuno and Tottenham.
Spurs won their first Premier League game since August with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa today.
They were on a run of three consecutive league defeats after last week’s 3-0 humbling by local rivals Arsenal.
As reported by the Athletic (29th September), Nuno’s start to life at Tottenham has left his squad of players unimpressed.
“Definitely, he’s under a huge amount of pressure,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Clearly Harry Kane is suffering a little bit of a hangover from the Euros and not getting his move. That’s a little bit of an issue because he’s not quite firing yet.
“Nuno has had to deal with all of that in pre-season. Maybe he thought he was going to go and now he’s stayed and all the rest of it that comes with that.
“They had a fantastic start and now they’ve hit the buffers a little bit.
“It’s certainly not easy for him in any way, shape or form. He’s under pressure but there has to be a long-term plan, a longer vision than just thinking ‘That’s it, it’s time to go’.”
Despite their struggles in the league, Spurs have progressed to the round of 16 in the Carabao Cup.
Nuno has also overseen an unbeaten start to their Europa Conference League group after two fixtures.
