Pundit: Newcastle United have 'huge advantage' in top-four race - 'people haven't realised this'
Newcastle United are not good enough to finish in the tp four even if they heavily invest in January.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Newcastle currently sit fourth in the Premier League after an impressive start to the season which has seen them lose only one of their opening thirteen games.
Questions are now being asked about how high the Magpies can finish this season.
Wenham claims Eddie Howe’s side are good enough to finish in the top six and insists a lack of European football is a “huge advantage”.
“It’s still very early in the season and time will tell,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It depends on whether they invest in January, they should. They don’t have European football this season and that’s something people haven’t realised or at least properly thought about.
“Not having those midweek games gives them a real chance at making progress in the league. They will be hoping to advance in the cups as well so there will be other games.
“But you look at the teams around them, Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham, they all have European football after Christmas.
“With the congested fixture list these guys will be playing, it gives Newcastle a huge advantage. The aim should be to try and finsish in that top six.”
On Saturday (5 November), this site revealed Newcastle have set aside a “huge sum” of money to spend in January.
The club signed five player in January 2022 in a bid to avoid relegation.
