Pundit slams 'ridiculous' decision as Man United source shares Solskjaer sack plan

Ole Gunna Solskjaer was always going to lose the support of his “media mates” as Man United continue to struggle.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, who predicted the fallout from last weekend’s Manchester derby loss.

In the wake of the 2-0 defeat, speaking on his YouTube channel (November 8), Rio Ferdinand admitted it is the time for Solskjaer to “pass the baton on”.

This comes as a club source told Football Insider (November 10) the board have growing misgivings about Solskjaer and he will be sacked if he does not lead a revival after the international break.

On 29th October, McAvennie told Football Insider that Solskjaer’s “media mates” wouldn’t save him from the sack.

In the aftermath of Ferdinand’s comments, he insisted this was all too predictable.

“I told you this would happen,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I predicted this weeks ago. it was so obvious this would happen.

“These people can’t defend him forever. Manchester United demand trophies, it’s in the club’s DNA.

“Ole can’t even get them winning matches, never mind trophies. I genuinely can’t believe he’s still there.

“I mean, it’s ridiculous. They have lost 7-0 to Liverpool and Manchester City at Old Trafford in the space of two weeks.

“How has he survived that?. It won’t be long before we see other pundits turn on Solskjaer.”

Man United are sixth in the Premier League.

They travel to Watford after the international break.
