Pundit suggests West Ham to sign James Tarkowski after source's reveal - 'wow... what a deal'

West Ham will beat Everton to the signing of James Tarkowski this summer.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about where the 29-year-old could move this summer.

On 11 May, A West Ham source told Football Insider that David Moyes has signalled his intent to battle Everton for the Tarkowski and they have registered their interest in a deal.

This site revealed on 30 April that Goodison director of football Kevin Thelwell is a big admirer of the Burnley defender and watched him in his team’s 1-0 win over Wolves last month.

Tarkowski is out of contract this summer and Kenny insists this makes him an ideal signing for the Irons.

“David Moyes and James Tarkowski is a match made in heaven,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I forgot he was out of contract this summer, what a deal that could be. He’s proven at the top level even if this season hasn’t been great.

“Wow, he will be a great signing for someone. If West Ham are interested, I can’t see a better or bigger club coming in for him.

“If he’s not signed a deal by now then he will definitely leave. West Ham is a great club and they are on the up.

“Their defenders aren’t getting any younger either, Ogbonna, Dawson. I can see that one happening.”

The Irons are keen to add another centre-back to their squad in the summer window having failed to do so in January.

Tarkowski has made 35 appearances across all competitions in what has been a disappointing season for the Clarets.

In other news, an expert has claimed Lukasz Fabianski is ‘a lucky boy’ as West Ham controversy that’s ‘hard to defend’ analysed.
