Pundit: This is the truth about Kane quitting Tottenham after Paratici claim
Frank McAvennie claims Fabio Paratici’s recent comments have not changed Harry Kane’s mind over his Tottenham future.
The former West Ham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, cited Alan Shearer as the prime example of why the striker wants to leave.
Tottenham’s new director of football Paratici was quoted by Sky on 5th July as saying, “Keeping [Kane] is not just my goal, it’s our goal as a club.”
Speaking to TalkSPORT 24 hours later, Kane responded, “as a player you want to be wanted.”
On 22nd June, Sky Sports reported City had made a £100million bid for the England captain.
This site revealed on 9th April that Kane told his friends he wants to leave Tottenham this summer.

McAvennie claims nothing has changed at Tottenham and Kane will still want to leave with Paratici’s comments dismissed as “the done thing”.
“It’s all for show,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They both know what the other is saying. It’s the done thing. How many times have we heard it?
“Nothing has changed at Spurs, Kane wants to win. They have made no signings so far.
“If Kane’s going to speak to him [Paratici] it will be to reiterate what he’s already said.
“Look at Shearer, he didn’t win anything at Newcastle which is a shame.
“If he went to a big club he could have won multiple trophies. He was a Newcastle man and he stayed there so Kane is different there.
“I’m sure he still wants to go.”
Tottenham have appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as Jose Mourinho’s replacement after an extensive manager hunt.
Kane is preparing to lead England out at Wembley on Sunday night as the Three Lions face their first major final for 55 years.
