Pundit verdict on Jude Bellingham joining Liverpool in January amid new source reveal

Tam McManus has claimed Jude Bellingham is unlikely to join Liverpool in the next two windows if they can’t compete for Champions League football.

The former Hibernian striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 19-year-old will be reluctant to leave Borussia Dortmund during January.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (29 October) that Liverpool are worried they will be priced out of signing Bellingham if he performs well at the World Cup with England.

The Merseyside giants have registered their interest in the midfield sensation and held preliminary talks with intermediaries about a potential deal.

However, Liverpool are struggling for form this season and have already slipped 15 points behind league leaders Arsenal after just 12 games.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in danger of missing out on Champions League football for the first time since the 2016-17 season.

McManus suggested he would be “really concerned” if he supported Liverpool.

He told Football Insider’s Ben Wild: “There have been so many rumours about Jude Bellingham.

“That’s the one player they’re thinking of, but I just can’t see it happening in January. Possibly in the summer, the door opens – but he’ll want to play in the Champions League.

“They might not even finish in the top four.

“There are real problems and I’d be really concerned if I was a Liverpool fan.”

Bellingham is reportedly valued at a reported £130million by current club Dortmund.

The midfielder, who is under contract until June 2025, has notched nine goals and two assists in 19 appearances this term.
