Pundit verdict on Rangers selling Morelos and Kent after Campbell reveal
Danny Mills has insisted Rangers have done the right thing by keeping hold of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England full-back claimed Rangers could not afford to lose the pair despite their “difficult” financial situation.
The Athletic‘s Jordan Campbell reported on September 1 that the Ibrox giant still have a £14million-shaped hole in their finances.

Kent and Morelos are the club’s biggest assets and have just two years left to run on their contracts.
Next summer they will be entering the final 12 months of their deals and their re-sale value will be significantly lower.
Asked whether Rangers could regret not selling either player this summer, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No, I think they need them.
“If you lost those two players and you didn’t replace them, you’re starting to struggle a little bit. They need those players.
“Unfortunately, the finances in Scottish football is difficult. As much as they need money, they also need to hold onto their players.
“It’s a chicken and egg scenario. If you start getting rid of your players, you’re not going to be successful and if you’re not successful you’re not going to get the money. If you don’t bring in the money you won’t bring in better players.
“It’s a difficult balance and they’ve gone down the route of keeping hold of their players and deal with whatever happens next.”

Kent and Morelos scored a combined 19 league goals last season as Rangers won a historic 55th Scottish Premiership title.
Morelos has scored three times so far this term while Kent is yet to find the net.
