Pundit 'worried' about Kane after revealing what he has spotted ahead of Tottenham clash v Arsenal
Noel Whelan admitted he feared the worse when Harry Kane went off injured for Tottenham against Dinamo Zagreb.
The former Premier League hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested many fans would have had their hearts in their mouths during the final 10 minutes of Thursday’s game.
The 27-year-old, who scored both goals in the 2-0 win, was subbed off after picking up a knock and was pictured with ice strapped around his right knee.
However, speaking to Sky Sports, Jose Mourinho confirmed he expected Kane to be fit and available for Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal.
Whelan admitted his relief at the news, both for Spurs and for England.
“I think everybody’s worried – not just Tottenham fans,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“You look to the England squad, you look to the Euros. What you don’t want is a recurrence of that knee injury and the problems he’s had before.
“It looked like he jarred his knee, it did look very red when he was sitting on the bench after. Sometimes you always fear the worst but Jose Mourinho thinks he’s going to be right.
“He won’t want to miss the London derby, that’s for sure. All good in the hood, Harry Kane will be out there doing what he does best. He just showed how important he is to Tottenham on Thursday night.”
Kane has scored 26 goals in 37 appearances this season and has remained largely injury-free so far.
He will be expecting to be named among Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming international break later this month.
