Pundit ‘wowed’ after what he’s ‘heard’ about Dan James move to Leeds United
Paddy Kenny has tipped Dan James to be a “great signing” for Leeds United after sealing a deadline-day transfer from Manchester United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds keeper admitted he had been wowed by James’ ability during his time at Old Trafford.
Leeds confirmed on Tuesday (August 31st) they had secured the permanent signing of the 23-year-old from their fierce rivals.
As revealed by Football Insider (30th August), Manchester United had set a £25million price tag on the winger’s head.
Kenny suggested a move to Elland Road would give James the game time he needs to fulfil his potential.
Kenny told Football Insider’s Adam Williams: “He’s been at Manchester United for two years. He almost went to Leeds before Man United.
“I think it’ll be a great signing for Leeds and for Dan James as well. It’ll be a good move for him.
“Playing under Bielsa at a club that’s looking to go forward. They’re a club that’s worked on the ground, bringing players in and looking progress from what they achieved last season.
“It’s a good move all round, I like the way he plays. I remember his debut for Manchester United. I was like: ‘Wow, what a player this lad is.’
“He’s just never got that chance, that consistent amount of games to show what he can do properly. I’m sure Leeds will benefit from that.
“I heard it’s about £25million. It shows they’re having a go, Leeds. Playing under Bielsa will be good for his development.”

James was on the brink of joining Leeds from Swansea in January 2019.
However, the deal collapsed and he ended up joining Manchester United that summer instead.
