Radrizzani must heed warning after outstanding reveal over Leeds fans this season
While Leeds United might not have had much to cheer this season, it has not stopped the fans turning out in their droves to Elland Road week in, week out.
The Whites faithful are renowned as some of the best in the land and they have lived up to their reputation once again, with the Bristol Post revealing that they held the third highest average in terms of attendance percentage in the Championship – a sensational feat considering how poorly they have done.
The report claims that only Norwich City, filling 94 per cent of their ground on average, and title winners Wolverhampton Wanderers, with 91 per cent, sit ahead of Leeds on 84 per cent in terms of how faithful the fans have been.
While the recognition is well deserved for the supporters after having to endure a pretty dismal season, it must serve as a stark warning to owner Andrea Radrizzani over what a big club he has taken over – and that such poor performances will not be taken lightly.
Yes, there is the argument that it has been a transitional period for the club after wholesale changes last summer and that is why there has not been an angry mod rebelling against the club and calling for the Italian’s head, demonstrating that while passionate, the Leeds faithful are also understanding of where their club stand.

However, changes are necessary and if Radrizzani hopes to see those outstanding attendance figures remain, and not see those turning up to Elland Road baying for blood, then next season must be a massive improvement on the current one.
