Radrizzani to decimate Leeds fans dreams as he plots long-term transformation at Elland Road
COMMENT
The reign of Paul Heckingbottom has not got off to the start that Leeds United fans would have wanted and there are already some twitchy feet around Elland Road.
The former Barnsley boss has just one win with the Whites, the only victory the club have tasted in 2018, as he tries to rescue a bitterly disappointing campaign following Thomas Christiansen’s time in charge.
However, as the saying goes, Rome was not built in a day, and Leeds’ period of transition following Andrea Radrizzani’s takeover last summer has already followed a similar path.
The Italian is without a doubt a football man, having demonstrated his knowledge not only of the game but what it means to run a football club, and must be forgiven for his mistakes early on in his tenure at the top of Elland Road, which by his own admission include the appointment of Christiansen.
Having learned the error of his ways he kicked the Dane out the exit door and brought in a Yorkshireman through-and-through in the form of ‘Hecky’, tapping into his knowledge not only of the Championship but of the region, acting as a galvanising force to drive the club forward.

Results might not have gone his way but he can expected to be handed much more time to turn things around, including a complete summer transfer window – decimating the hopes of fans who had hoped to see a change in the Elland Road dugout following the stunning revelation over Mick McCarthy’s future.
The Ipswich boss has been confirmed to be departing the Tractor Boys come the end of the season, leaving many Leeds supporters urging their club on Twitter to snap up the 59-year-old, a thought which will be echoed by United fans worldwide.
Ipswich Town Football Club can today confirm that manager Mick McCarthy will leave the Club at the end of his contract.

McCarthy is an experienced head and could well be a smart appointment for the Whites, but Radrizzani has already proven he is not the type to wield the axe too quickly, and will be planning for Heckingbottom to be at the club for the long-term as he sets out to conduct a transformation from top to bottom – much to the disappointment of the fans.
