Raheem Sterling has ‘no future at Chelsea, the fans have turned against him’ – pundit
Chelsea fans are “fed up” with Raheem Sterling as he “doesn’t bring anything” to the side.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie slaughtered Sterling, 29, and claimed he will not be handed a new contract by the Blues.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider (8 April) that Chelsea are planning to sign a marquee winger this summer amid internal question marks regarding Sterling’s future at the club.
Since he penned a five-year deal in a reported £47.5million move to Stamford Bridge from Man City in July 2022, the winger has failed to show the often incredible ability that was on display at the Etihad.
Raheem Sterling has ‘no future’ at Chelsea – McAvennie
Across 76 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, Sterling has scored 17 goals and provided 12 assists and has been heavily criticised by the fanbase for his frequently unimpactful and wasteful displays.
McAvennie suggested that the England international has lost his motivation and is “not the same player” he used to be.
“I don’t think Sterling has a future there,” he told Football Insider.
“I think the fans have gone against him and they are fed up.
“Sterling doesn’t bring anything for me.
“Nicolas Jackson doesn’t do anything either, but Sterling still doesn’t get a game over him!
“I don’t know if Sterling’s legs have gone or not, but he’s not the same player.
“He won’t be getting a new contract – that’s for sure.

“He’s had so many moves and I just don’t think the motivation is there for him anymore.
“He’s 29 now – he might just not have it in him”
