Raheem Sterling: Man City likely to accept cut-price offer after £80m transfer update – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Man City could sell Raheem Sterling for less than their reported £80million asking price this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland star insisted the 27-year-old’s contract situation means City may have to accept a cut-price deal.
As reported by the Daily Star (26 March), City will listen to offers of around £80million for Sterling this summer as he enters the final year of his terms at the Etihad Stadium.

City have reportedly been working on a new deal for Sterling but there has been no agreement so far.
As such, Hutton suggested Pep Guardiola’s men may have to drop their asking price if they are to avoid losing him on a free.
“He’s still only 27, that’s the thing,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“That’s the difference, that he’s still got time on his side. He’s got one year left on his contract. From City’s point of view, you either get him to sign one now or risk him running down his contract and getting nothing for him.
“So that’s the situation they’re in. If he doesn’t agree terms going into the final year, of course, they’ll try and cash in.
“£80 million is obviously a lot for somebody going into their last year. You can quite clearly just sit that out if you really wanted to.
“Do I think he’ll go for £80million? No, not in my opinion. I think it will be less than that.
“But I think there’s a player there with still a lot to give.”

Sterling has been at City since joining from Liverpool in 2015.
He has scored 14 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions this season.
