'Worrying' - Celtic fans react after another reported defensive injury blow
By James Black
Celtic defender Mikael Lustig could face a spell on the sidelines after picking up a calf injury on international duty – but Hoops fans are confident they have a replacement in Anthony Ralston.
The Daily Record has reported that the Swedish defender sat out training ahead of his nation’s World Cup qualifier with Luxembourg and there are fears he could miss Celtic’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Senior player Lustig has been ever-present this season, making 16 appearances across all competitions.
He isn’t the only defender to have had an injury blow this week as Jozo Simunovic suffered a torn hamstring while away with the Bosnian international squad and the news Lustig has now picked up an injury will give further cause for concern for the Hoops.
Fans on Twitter were understandably concerned to see Lustig become the latest player on the list of injuries, but many thing teenager Anthony Ralston has what it takes to step up in his absence.

The Hoops currently lead the Scottish Premiership on goal difference from Aberdeen after the opening eight games.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently on a 58-game unbeaten in domestic games stretching back to the 2015/16 season.
Celtic have had serious injury concerns defensively so far this season with Ralston, Simunovic, Erik Sviatchenko and Dedryck Boyata all missing games through injury.
Nir Bitton has been a regular sight in central defence despite being a midfielder and Lustig missing games could see Rodgers adjust his tactics as he gets down to the bare bones of his squad.
Celtic return to action after the international break on October 14 when they take on Neil McCann’s Dundee.
