Ramon Sosa to undergo Nottingham Forest medical after breakthrough – sources
Nottingham Forest are closing in on signing Paraguay winger Ramon Sosa with a medical expected in the next 48 hours, sources have told Football Insider.
The deal is edging closer after the Premier League side had a breakthrough in talks with Argentine club Talleres.
The two clubs are in discussion over an £11million deal, and a medical is expected to take place later this week.
The 24-year-old left-winger has his bags packed and is ready to jet into England to complete the move ahead of the new season.
The Premier League side have been active in this transfer window, as Nuno Espirito Santo has already brought in six players as he aims to guide the team further away from the relegation zone this season.
Jota Silva was the latest signing that Nottingham have made, while the club also added a right-winger in Eric da Silva Moreira.
Nottingham have bolstered their options in midfield by signing Elliot Anderson from Newcastle and Marko Stamenic from Red Star.
Goalkeeper Carlos Miguel joined earlier this summer, while Nikola Milenkovic is a new defensive option.
Nottingham Forest will gain a bright attacking spark in Ramon Sosa
Sosa has been one of the bright sparks in Argentine football recently, having scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 56 games for Talleres.
His recent rise in performances have helped him gain more opportunities at international level, with the left-winger having played 14 times for Paraguay.
Only three teams scored fewer goals than Nottingham last season, and two of those clubs were relegated from the Premier League table.
Sosa’s goalscoring abilities will be something that Santo looks to tap into ahead of the new campaign, which begins this weekend as Nottingham hosts Bournemouth.

Nottingham aren’t planning on being done in the transfer market either, as the club are monitoring Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale.
