Rangers playmaker responds to summer exit speculation
By Matt Farr
Rangers midfielder Niko Kranjcar insists he is happy with his position at the club despite talk of a summer exit from Ibrox.
The 32-year-old playmaker has missed the majority of the campaign through injury, and has yet to feature under new Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha.
But with the Portuguese expected to make major changes to his Rangers squad this summer, Kranjcar could find himself sacrificed before he has a chance to prove his worth.
Last month, Bet Victor named Championship outfit Birmingham City as hot favourites to sign the crocked star this summer, pricing him at 3/1 to sign before September 3.
The speculation came after Harry Redknapp was appointed as manager at St. Andrew’s, with the renowned chief having worked with Kranjcar at three different clubs.

However, Kranjcar has hinted he could be set to stay at Ibrox this summer, admitting he is happy at the club, and that he is entirely focused on his recovery ahead of pre-season.
He told the Daily Record: “So far everything has gone to the plan we set out after the operation. I can honestly say I have never worked so hard to get back in shape.
“I understood it’s a difficult injury and I’m not that young any more, so it would take a lot of hard work to get back to playing shape.
“I am happy with my current status and hopefully I’ll be ready to go 100 per cent when we start with preparation for the new season.”
Kranjcar has not played for the club since shattering his cruciate ligament in October, having made 15 appearances in all competitions following his arrival at the start of the season.
But he has made a return to training, and could be in line to feature for the club in their Europa League qualification campaign, which begins at the end of June.
The long-standing relationship between Kranjcar and Redknapp has seen the former Tottenham and Portsmouth boss spend a combined total of £6million on his services during his career.
The pair have also worked together at Queens Park Rangers, and although he will have money to spend this summer, it remains to be seen if Redknapp is actually considering a move to be reunited with his former star.
In other Rangers news, the club have been dealt a major transfer blow following a revelation about this reported target.
