21-year-old Katic is contracted to Slaven until the summer of 2021 and has one cap for his country.
Football Insider verdict:
It looks like the Gers aren’t wasting any time in getting a deal done for Katic ahead of the squad returning for pre-season training on Friday, with European clashes on the horizon for them. The 21-year-old seems to fit the bill of what the Ibrox giants were looking for to strengthen their defence this summer and should be a good addition to the squad. At only 21, Katic is definitely someone that the Gers can look to sell on in the future and make a healthy profit, if he is a success, and marks a bit of a departure from the Light Blues’ signings in previous transfer windows. With more defenders expected at Ibrox this summer, it will be interesting to see exactly where Katic is deployed – and how the Gers line-up positionally – as Gerrard looks to end their long wait for a major trophy stretching all the way back to 2011.
