Rangers backed to sign Albion Rrahmani amid ‘£5m’ reveal – Hutton

Rangers will struggle to pay £5million for Albion Rrahmani this summer due to the football club’s ongoing financial issues.

That is the opinion of former Gers defender Alan Hutton, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the Rapid Bucharest striker.

The 23-year-old scored 19 goals in 30 matches last season, catching the eye of numerous clubs across Europe.

Football Insider previously revealed that signing a striker is a top priority for the Gers as the club looks to put pressure on Celtic next season.

Rangers can’t afford Albion Rrahmani without selling someone

Even though Rrahmani is a top target for Rangers, there are concerns over whether the club can afford to get the deal done.

The Scottish giants must sell players to raise funds for this window, which could be a stumbling block.

“He’s done well,” Hutton told Football Insider about Rrahmani’s career to date.

“I’m not going to sit here and say I know him inside and out, but you can look at his scoring record, that’s decent.

“You’d like to think if he was going to come to Rangers the opportunities that he would get, different things like that, there’d be opportunities.

“That’s a lot of money now for Rangers, so there would have to be some sort of movement.

“I know there’s a lot of rumours with Dessers, is he going to be moving? Is Lammers going to be moving? There’s all these question marks.

“Until a concrete offer comes in for someone of that elk, it’s going to be difficult for Rangers to shell out £4-5million at this moment in time.”
