'Leave me alone' - Joey Barton slams Celtic fans on Twitter
By James Black
Former Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has blasted Celtic fans on Twitter – claiming they are “obsessed” with him.
Barton has been on the receiving end of abuse from Celtic fans over a number of comments recently and the 35-year-old has decided to make his feelings clear.
Barton has previously said he was a Celtic fan before joining Rangers.
The former Manchester City and QPR midfielder had a brief stay at Ibrox after falling out with manager Mark Warburton the agreeing to end his contract early.
Barton appeared to lose his cool with Celtic fans online after bombarding his Twitter account with comments.

“Just going on record to say Celtic fans are obsessed with me on here,” Barton said on his personal Twitter account.
“Leave me alone. I don’t care about you or your club. Go away.”

After leaving Rangers, Burnley re-joined old club Burnley before being banned for 18 months in April for breaching the FA’s rules on betting.
Barton succesfully appealed the length of the ban and had it reduced by five months.
Barton has recently started hosting a show on TalkSport while he serves his gambling ban and has – unsurprisingly – proven to be an out-spoken pundit on and off air.
It’s unlikely that Barton will return to top-level football when his ban is up.
Burnley released Barton from his contract shortly after he was banned by the FA.
In other Rangers news, fans have reacted on Twitter to this 58-year-old’s interest in replacing Caixinha.
