Rangers are not fearful that left-back Tuur Rommens could be prised away from Ibrox any time soon, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old has made a significant impact since his arrival from Westerlo in the January transfer window, and the club are “confident” behind the scenes that they can keep hold of him for the long term.

There is an acceptance from within Ibrox that it is natural for players of the Belgian’s quality to attract interest from elsewhere, but the hierarchy are adamant that they will not lose him this summer.

Rommens has already become a fans’ favourite in the early stages of his time at Rangers, and he is set to play a key role in the remainder of their push for the Scottish Premiership title.

Rangers’ transfer plans are set to see them try to strengthen their squad further ahead of next season, and the idea of losing any of their important players is not on the agenda for them.

Rangers ready to tackle Tuur Rommens interest despite fans’ concerns

Rommens is already building a big reputation for himself at Rangers in the early stages of his time with the Scottish giants, and the supporters have already taken to him.

The defender has one goal and one assist across his opening six league games for his new club, and he has played almost every minute across their last five league outings.

However, Rommens’ performances have already prompted concerns from the Rangers fanbase that their club will not be able to keep hold of him for long, as they have regularly had their best talents taken elsewhere in recent seasons.

Nevertheless, the club do not share any of those concerns at the moment, and feel that they will be able to fend off any interest in Rommens that does come their way this summer.

Andrew Cavenagh and the rest of the hierarchy are keen to provide manager Danny Rohl with the resources that he needs to take the team back to the top of Scottish football, and they are determined to keep hold of players like Rommens as a result.

Football Insider revealed last week that Rangers have no intention of selling Emmanuel Fernandez this summer, amid interest from West Ham and other Premier League clubs.

The centre-back is developing a big reputation for himself at Ibrox after some impressive displays so far this season, but a sale is highly unlikely to take place this summer.

Rangers are hopeful that they will be able to fend off interest in the 24-year-old, just as they are with Rommens, and they think that Champions League qualification would provide them with even more security.

Fernandez is already attracting attention after his £3.5million move from Peterborough United last summer, and they already appear ready to net a sizeable profit whenever he does move on.
