Rangers have confirmed the signing of towering defender Nikola Katic from Slaven Belupo on a four-year contract.
The 6’4″ powerhouse becomes the Gers’ fourth permanent signing of the summer after Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Jamie Murphy, while Ovie Ejaria has signed a season-long loan deal too.
The Ibrox giants confirmed Katic’s signing on their official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.

Football Insider verdict:
The Gers haven’t wasted their time in getting a deal for Katic over the line and the Croatian should bring some much-needed steel to a defence that leaked far too many goals last season. The 21-year-old comes to Ibrox with a good pedigree and will hope to follow in the footsteps of compatriots Dado Prso and Nikica Jelavic and make an impact in Glasgow. Katic will almost certainly come straight into the starting XI as Steven Gerrard seems to be building a much more physical side than the one he inherited on June 1st. With the Light Blues headed for Spain on Sunday as their pre-season training swings into gear, they will be delighted to have brought Katic in early and given him a chance to get used to his new environment before the hard work gets underway. With more defenders expected at Ibrox this summer, the Gers backline will look very different when they take the field in their first competitive game next month.
In other Rangers transfer news, they are leading the hunt to sign an in-demand attacker from Liverpool.
