Rangers are privately convinced they have a “£10million player in the making” in midfield ace Glen Kamara, Football Insider has been told.
Manager Steven Gerrard hailed Kamara as an “absolute steal” following his performance in the 3-1 weekend win over Hearts at Tynecastle.
Kamara joined Rangers ahead of schedule in January after initially agreeing a pre-contract deal, with Dundee negotiating a fee of £50,000 for the 23-year-old.
A Rangers source has told Football Insider the club are convinced the player will eventually be worth 200,000 times what they paid for him in the winter window.
“We’ve been so impressed by Glen,” the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity. “We knew he had to work on his fitness when he arrived and we’re now seeing what he’s capable of. He is strong, mobile, can shrug off challenges, drive forward with the ball, good feet…a dominant player in midfield, really.
“He can make Rangers serious money, there’s no doubt he’s a £10million player in the making, good enough to play in the Premier League.”
Kamara has made just 12 appearances for the Ibrox giants since his arrival, nine in the SPL and three in the Scottish Cup.
The nine-times Finland international joined Dundee in 2017 on a free transfer after failing to make the grade at Arsenal, the club he had joined at academy level.
In other Rangers transfer news, it can be REVEALED that the club are in talks to terminate the contract of a £20,000-a-week Ibrox player.
