Rangers Exclusive: Major update on Philippe Clement sack today

Rangers will not make an immediate decision on sacking manager Philippe Clement, sources have told Football Insider.

The Ibrox club dropped more points at home against Dundee United, drawing 1-1 to leave them 11 points adrift of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.

Sources say pressure is ramping up on Clement, 50, after Rangers’ disastrous start to the 2024-25 campaign.

However, the Belgian boss is set to survive past the Europa League clash away at Nice on Thursday (28 November).

Despite their poor displays in the league, Rangers are well-placed to progress to a European knockout playoff in the new year.

Clement has won 12 of 21 games across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign – with the biggest disappointment coming in Champions League qualifying in August.

Rangers will not make immediate Clement decision

The 50-year-old has been linked with the Belgium national team job in recent days with Dominic Tedesco’s position under threat.

He was handed an improved four-year deal in the summer window after an impressive first campaign in charge at Ibrox.

Rangers Celtic

Clement won the Scottish League Cup in his first season at Rangers and has the chance to repeat the feat when they face Celtic at Hampden Park next month.

The Gers’ next league clash comes against St Johnstone on 1 December.
