Danny Mills has argued Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could definitely cut it for Serie A giants AC Milan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England international claimed that the Colombian goal machine would need to keep his temper in check to properly realise his potential in Italy, but also pointed out that he has all the necessary attributes to be a hit on the continent.
As revealed by Football Insider, the 24-year-old has emerged as target for the continental club, who have contacted the Gers ahead of a potential summer switch.
Morelos had looked as if he was close to joining Ligue 1 side Lille in a £17 million deal late last month, but the French outfit instead opted to swoop for Canada international Jonathan David.
An exit still appears to be on the cards, however, and Mills believes Milan would represent a good move for the South American.
When asked whether Morelos would be a success for Milan should he sign during an interview with Football Insider, he said: “I can’t see why not.
“Milan aren’t the powerhouse they once were. They’re not challenging for Serie A season on season. They’re not blowing teams away and challenging for the Champions League.
“He’s got all the ability.
“If he keeps his head, and he plays to his strengths and doesn’t allow his emotions or weaknesses to take over, then without a doubt he can play in that league.”
Morelos has started every one of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership matches so far this season, and broke his long-standing duck in front of goal recently with a brace against St. Mirren.
Prior to that double, the striker had gone nine games without a goal in all competitions, and had failed to score in the league since Boxing Day.
