January signing axed for Premiership clash: Rangers expected XI v Hamilton
Rangers manager Graeme Murty is expected to make one change to his starting XI when his side take on Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday with Jason Cummings making way for Daniel Candeias.
Murty is expected to largely stick with the side which beat League One high-flyers Ayr United 6-1 in the Scottish Cup fifth round last weekend – albeit with a slight tactical switch.
After starting with two strikers against Ayr, Murty is expected to revert to the lone striker he has used regularly since taking charge in October.
Goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is expected to remain between the sticks behind a back four of James Tavernier, David Bates, Russell Martin and Declan John.
With Jason Holt missing through suspension and Ryan Jack, Graham Dorrans and Jordan Rossiter all injured, Sean Goss and Greg Docherty could continue together in central midfield with Candeias and Jamie Murphy out wide.
Candeias may come in for January signing Cummings, who may well be axed as Murty seems to prefer starting him on the bench in Premiership fixtures.
In-form attacker Josh Windass is likely to start in the number 10 role behind Alfredo Morelos.
Morelos and Windass have both been in fine goalscoring form recently and will be hoping to put the Accies to the sword with another good performance.
Murty’s side could find themselves going into the game six points behind second-placed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership with the Dons playing Hibs 24 hours earlier.
