Three January signings start: Rangers expected XI v Ross County
Rangers manager Graeme Murty is expected to name an unchanged starting XI when his side take on Ross County in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon – with Josh Windass retaining his place despite competition from new signing Jason Cummings.
The Gers eased by Aberdeen on Wednesday night in their first match back after the winter break with a comfortable 2-0 win over Derek McInnes’ side.
January signings Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Russell Martin are all expected to keep their spots in the side after impressing against the Dons.
The Light Blues impressed against the Dons as Murty’s new-look side look to secure second in the table and close the gap to leaders Celtic.
Goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is expected to retain his place in the starting XI behind a back four of James Tavernier, Russell Martin, David Bates and Declan John as they look to keep a fourth successive clean sheet for the Gers.
Sean Goss and Jason Holt are expected to be given another opportunity to impress together in central midfield with Daniel Candeias and Jamie Murphy on the flanks.
Despite competition for the place, Windass is expected to start at number 10 with prolific Colombian Alfredo Morelos leading the line for Graeme Murty’s side after scoring the opener against Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
New signing Greg Docherty is expected to be named on the bench after signing a four-and-a-half year deal on Thursday to complete his move from Hamilton Academical.
In other Rangers news, Murty has confirmed the club are looking to get more deals over the line before Wednesday’s deadline.
